ABOUT SHNIT

Shnit is an international short film festival. It takes place at exactly the same time in Buenos Aires, Bangkok, Bern, Cape Town, Hong Kong, Moscow, San José (Costa Rica) and of course Cairo.
The festival presents during four days a proud selection of the best short films from all over the world.

A single entry for a filmblock Zawya costs 40 LE

What is a filmblock?

What is a filmblock?

A filmblock is a 90 minute compilation of short films. They are composed by specific topics or genres. That means that you can pick a block according to your interests or take a gamble on our curators choices of pre-selected blocks.

How do I know when the filmblock I picked will be screened?

You find our detailed schedule on our Facebook group page and website. It is divided by day, and time.

Can I download the shortfilms?

Can I download the shortfilms?

It‘s the same as when you are going to a regular cinema to watch a film. People invested time and money in their project and should be rewarded for their amazing work. Therefore the shortfilms can not be downloaded.

The festival’s yearly cornerstone comprises 60 films from all around the world. The world’s best of the last year in all genres, fiction, documentary, animation and beyond. Jury- and audience- awarded in 5 categories.

Shnit Worldwide Film Festival is back with the Cairo Playground for the 6th year in a row. We have scoured the earth and hunted
down some of the hottest short films created in the past year. Fresh short films, special events, competitions, and a few humble
awards presented by our incredible partners. Nobody will leave disappointed – and I mean nobody. Whether you’re young,
trendy, nerdy, geeky, fruity, funky, funny, cheeky, fashionable or family-oriented, catch a ride down to Zawya cinema downtown,
